Durant and Chevrolet would would open the first Chevy factory in Flint, Michigan, at the corner of Wilcox and Kearsley St. Chevrolet would debut their first production model in 1913, at the New York Auto Show. The model they revealed was the Series C Classic Six–designed by Etienne Planche, and based on plans laid out by Louis Chevrolet.

William Crapo Durant was born on December 8, 1861, in Boston, Massachusetts. He dropped out of high school and worked a number of odd jobs, including in his grandfather’s lumberyard and as a cigar salesman. In 1886 Durant established a carriage company in Michigan, and in 1904 he took over the Buick Manufacturing Company.
