The unique feature of this park is the existence of “villus” or natural lakes. Wilpattu broadly translates as the land of the lakes, and this is exactly what defines this beautiful reserve.
This is the largest national park in Sri Lanka. If you need to see wild animals including leopards its advisable to start your safari as early as possible. Park opens at 6.15 to 17.15. You can either have a half a day safari tour or full day. It costs 4,500LKR to 5,000LKR for a half a day safari except the ticket fee.
