Yair Lapid ( Hebrew: יָאִיר לַפִּיד, IPA: [jaˈʔiʁ laˈpid]; born 5 November 1963) is an Israeli politician of the centrist Yesh Atid party, and a former journalist. He has been the Leader of the Opposition since January 2023, having previously served in that role from 2020 to 2021.
May 3, 2024 · Yair Lapid first worked as a reporter while serving in the military, writing articles for a magazine published by the Israel Defense Forces. In 1991 he began to write a column for Maariv, the daily newspaper where his father was a columnist and editor. After several years at Maariv, Lapid’s column moved to the higher-circulation Yedioth Ahronoth.
