Robert Yale Lary Sr. (November 24, 1930 – May 11, 2017) was an American professional football player, businessman, and politician. He played for 11 seasons as a safety, punter and return specialist for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League (NFL).

Yale Lary was a multi-talented player who starred as a right safety, a punter and a punt returner for the Detroit Lions in the 1950s and 1960s. He was named to the All-NFL team five times and played in nine Pro Bowls, with 50 interceptions and a career average of 44.3 yards on 503 punts. He also won three NFL punting titles and was enshrined in the Hall of Fame in 1979.
