Scott was born in Austin, Texas, the son of Sallie Lee (Masterson) and Zachary Thomson Scott, a doctor.
Zachary Scott was an American actor of suave or sinister roles, who starred in The Mask of Dimitrios, Mildred Pierce and The Southerner. He was a descendant of George Washington, a former cabin boy, a Broadway star and a rafting accident victim.
