Zakes Mokae. Actor. 4 August 1934 to 10 September 2009. Making his name on stage in his native South Africa, Mokae got his break in British cinema with appearances in movies such as Darling (1965) and The Comedians (1967). Later roles came in such films as Cry Freedom (1987), A Dry White Season (1989) and A Rage In Harlem (1991).
Actor Zakes Mokae. He now appears in the film "The Serpent and the Rainbow." He began his acting career in his native South Africa where he and playwright Athol Fugard founded the Serpent Theater. They shocked audiences by becoming the first black and white actors to appear on stage together.
