Aug 5, 2009 · The movie is about two couples and a suspicious third couple. The two main couples are Cliff and Cydney, honeymooners in Hawaii, and Nick and Gina, hikers. They meet on a difficult wilderness trail on the beautiful island of Kauai.
Gina stabs a knife through Cliff's hand, pinning that to the ground until he pulls it out (seen in graphic close-up). There's blood in the water by Nick's kayak, and we then see that a bullet hit the metal plate in his head, saving him, but the hanging flap of skin is bloody.
A character is shot point-blank but survives; viewers see the wound after the fact. An animal is hunted, eviscerated, skinned, and cooked. A victim is stabbed in the leg and pulls the knife out. A man, struck with a knife, has his hand split badly between his fingers (the wound is shown in detail).

Aug 17, 2019 · A Perfect Getaway (2009): 8 out of 10: For a slow-moving thriller that cheats a little, A Perfect Getaway isn’t that bad. It has gorgeous cinematography and while it ambles, it successfully builds up tension with character development rather than relying on black cats jumping out of closets or severed body parts every ten minutes.
Jan 1, 2024 · The couple seem like an innocent couple that is just looking to have a good time, but it appears clear that the real couple has been murdered and the film starts showing couples the pair meet, first Cleo (Shelton) and Kale (Hemsworth), and then Nick (Olyphant) and Gina (Sanchez).
The scenery is gorgeous, but that's hardly a reason to make a movie. All the greenery doesn't enliven the tired cliché of a knife and gun-wielding psycho chasing a potential victim, and that's what A Perfect Getaway amounts to when reduced to its essence.
