We looked at over 2,300 journals (more than 80% of them published by Elsevier), and calculated that the average acceptance rate was 32%. The range of acceptance was from just over 1% to 93.2%. However, if we look at the different aspects of the group of journals, we can draw some general conclusions.

Nov 17, 2022 · In a study conducted by Elsevier, which evaluated around 2,300 journals (> 80% were published by Elsevier) in 2020, the calculated average acceptance rate was 32%, with acceptance rates ranging from just a little above 1% to as high as 93.2%.
Components of the decision, including expected turnaround time, journal acceptance rate, and journal impact factor, vary in terms of accessibility. In this study, I collated recent turnaround times and impact factors for 82 journals that publish papers in the field of fisheries sciences.
