Apr 23, 2013 · Kiwix is an offline reader that allows you to download the entire Wikipedia library (over 9 gigabytes) as seen in January 2012. Since that's a lot of content, there are no photos included. If you're looking for pictures too, you can get a smaller (and older) backup with files dating from 2010 and earlier, though, that's only 45,000 pages.

Download the official apps from their website, and download separate English wikipedia .zim file from torrent (don't forget to seed). That's the most easiest solution if you wanna download offline version of Wikipedia, but not up-to-date (it is restricted by whatever kiwix release version)
