The worst years to avoid when purchasing a used Chevy Malibu are 1997 – 2005, 2008, and 2011 due to various engine transmission problems and safety issues leading to costly repairs.
Tldr: Car died. Towed to shop. Reading said it needed new Alternator, Battery, MAP, and MAF according to them. First two fixed by shop, car idles at 3,000 and unsafe to drive because it accelerates/revs on its own. Fixed the sensors on own, and it didn't help. Check engine light still on. What's the deal? Did I miss something?
