She left the bulk of her estate to her three daughters, Adelaide Close, Eleanor Post Close, and Nedenia Hutton. In popular culture. Merriweather Post was portrayed by Ann Harding in the 1943 film Mission to Moscow, a fictionalization of her third husband, Joseph E. Davies's book detailing his time as Ambassador to the Soviet Union.

Adelaide was considered an avid sportswoman in the horse racing industry in her later life. Adelaide’s mother was a famous American socialite of her time.
Eleanor Post Hutton. Eleanor Close Barzin (December 3, 1909 – November 27, 2006) was an American heiress and socialite. Born a Close, her name changed to Hutton with her mother's 1920 marriage to Edward Francis Hutton. However, after her marriage to Leon Barzin her name became Eleanor Close Barzin, and stayed that way through the end of her life.
