Agnes of Bavaria (1276–1345) was a daughter of Duke Louis II of Upper Bavaria and his third wife, Matilda of Habsburg. In 1290, in Donauwörth , she married Henry "the Younger" of Hesse (1265 – 23 August 1298 [ citation needed ] ), a son of Landgrave Henry I of Hesse (1244–1308).

This is a very hardy, very early blooming rugosa. The blooms are fully double light yellow with deeper tones of buff and amber upon opening at the center of the bloom. They are borne on short stalks, along the arching canes of the bush. Occasionally a few blooms may appear later in the season after the spring flush. Introduced in 1900.
Agnes of Bavaria (1335 – 11 November 1352) was a Bavarian nun from Munich and a member of the House of Wittelsbach . The daughter of Louis IV, Holy Roman Emperor, was brought up in a monastery of Clarissan nuns. [1] She rejected a marriage with a nobleman chosen by her relatives and instead entered a cloister. Always sickly, Agnes died in 1352.
