Jul 29, 2019 · Beginning in 2014, an ongoing series of concerts of composer Akira Ifukube's music were organized in honor of the composer's 100th birthday. The first three concerts focused on Akira Ifukube's film music career, featuring suites from the composer's well known film scores, as well as obscure scores.

Akira Ifukube (伊福部 昭, Ifukube Akira, 31 May 1914 – 8 February 2006) was a Japanese composer. He is best known for composing several entries in the Godzilla franchise as well as developing the titular monster's roar.
On July 12, 2014, I acted as a consultant and Master of Ceremonies for the Rondo Award-nominated Ifukube 100 Concert (produced by John DeSentis and Chris Oglio), which took place in conjuction with G-FEST (the world's only annual Godzilla convention), at the Pickwick Theater in Park Ridge, Illinois.
