The Alabama Hills are a range of hills and rock formations near the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada in the Owens Valley, west of Lone Pine in Inyo County, California. Though geographically separate from the Sierra Nevada, they are part of the same geological formation.

- Go camping in the beautiful scenery. The Alabama Hills are the perfect place to make camp for a night or two! The best part about this dispersed camping area is that it’s free and no reservation is required, although this may be changing soon.
- Try rock climbing. Given the sheer volume of rocks, canyons, and boulders, you can expect the Alabama Hills to be a rock climbers paradise! There are over 300 climbing routes in these Hills, many of which have pre-established anchors.
