Mar 29, 2024 · There is only one company, Alcatraz Cruises, that is allowed to offer trips to and from the island. All of their ferries depart from and arrive at Pier 33 along the Embarcadero. This is on the northeast side of San Francisco. Here is a map showing it's location within San Francisco.
Alcatraz City Cruises is the official ferry provider to Alcatraz. Departures start at 8:40 AM and are available every half hour throughout the day. Please note that these cruises frequently sell out, so plan and book your cruise in advance, especially in the summer and on holidays.

Taking the Alcatraz Ferry. The ferry to Alcatraz leaves from Pier 33 (Alcatraz Landing) on the Embarcadero. The City Experiences company operates the ferries to Alcatraz.
