Visitors to Angel Island will see a U.S. Immigration Station (USIS) and be able to partake in biking and hiking the island's trails. Pier 33, where Alcatraz tours depart, is located in the Fisherman's Wharf area, which is packed with restaurants and other attractions like Ghirardelli Square .

Location: Alcatraz Island is located in the middle of the San Francisco Bay. A ferry, located at Piers 31-33 (cross streets of Embarcadero & Bay Street) will take you to the island. Just remember to make your reservation in advance since this popular attraction tends to sell out up to a week in advance.

Visitors can reach the island in a little under 15 minutes by ferry ride from Pier 33, located between the San Francisco Ferry Building and Fisherman's Wharf, San Francisco. Hornblower Cruises and Events, operating under the name Alcatraz Cruises, is the official ferry provider to and from the island.
