Alex Carter (born 7 May 1982 in Oldham, Greater Manchester) is an English actor and writer, mostly known for his roles as Jamie Hope in Emmerdale and Lee Hunter in Hollyoaks.

Alex Carter is an English actor who played Lee Hunter from May 2001 to December 2005. He returned to the role in 2010 and departed in October 2011. He also played Lee in Hollyoaks: In Too Deep and Hollyoaks: Crossing the Line.
Alex served as a writer on Hollyoaks in 2011 and 2012. He also created and wrote a spin-off of Hollyoaks to be transmitted on E4, which was commissioned by Lime Pictures, but the production was cancelled before being announced.

Jul 15, 2010 · Hollyoaks' Alex Carter will make his big comeback to the soap via a new online spin-off series. Hollyoaks Freshers, a six-part series of 10-minute episodes, will launch on the internet next month.
She is best known for her roles of Jade Nicholls in Emmerdale and Mercedes McQueen in the Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks, which she has appeared in since 2006. Her portrayal of the character has led to her reprising the role in the programme's spin-off series Hollyoaks Later between 2008 and 2020.
