Nov 2, 2015 · US-based General Electric has finally acquired the power and grid operations unit from French Alstom, following regulatory approvals in more than 20 countries and regions. The €12.35bn deal was agreed by the two companies in 2014, and marks the largest ever industrial acquisition by GE.
With the completion of this acquisition, GE Power & Water and Alstom Power have combined to form GE Power. It will be headquartered in Schenectady, New York State, and will have more than 65 000 employees in over 150 countries with estimated revenue of $30 billion.
