The Freedom Festival kicks off at 4 p.m. that day at Alton Baker Park, with an International food court and live bands.
Alton Baker Park, Eugene’s largest developed park, has been an indispensable part of the Eugene landscape since 1959. Located right on the banks of the Willamette River directly across from the University of Oregon, Alton Baker has provided a place for denizens of Eugene to bike, run, feed ducks and take their dogs for over fifty years.

Jul 15, 2014 · Eric and I are both crowd-haters, so we opted to skip the big party at Alton Baker Park, and watch the fireworks from the top of a parking garage at the corner of 8th and Willamette in downtown Eugene. It turned out to be a pretty spectacular decision, as we had a great view, no loud fireworks sounds, and a small crowd.
