Summary Del Harris (Jeff Daniels), the chief of police in a small Pennsylvania Rust Belt town is tested on how far would he go to protect the son (Alex Neustaedter) of a woman (Maura Tierney) he loves from murder charges in this drama series based on Philipp Meyer's novel of the same name. Crime. Drama.
For a very basic overview, "American Rust" is kicked off by a murder mystery, of sorts, perpetuated by young men Billy (Alex Neustaedter) & Isaac (David Alvarez). Town sheriff Del Harris (Daniels) is on the case, but also in a burgeoning romantic relationship with Billy's mother Grace (Maura Tierney), complicating all the proceedings.
