Anadarko Heidelberg Project The Heidelberg Development is located in the southern Green Canyon block of the Gulf of Mexico. The field includes two drill centers tied back to a truss Spar via 8-inch flowlines and Steel Catenary Risers. The processed oil and gas is then exported via two 16-inch export lines.

Anadarko is the operator of Heidelberg field with 31.5% working interest in it. Other partners for the field development include Marubeni Oil and Gas (12.75%), Eni (12.5%), Apache Deepwater (12.5%), StatoilHydro (12%), ExxonMobil (9.375%) and Cobalt (9.375%). The Heidelberg field development project was sanctioned in the second quarter of 2013.
The Heidelberg development is located in 5,300 feet of water, approximately 140 miles offshore Louisiana, and consists of Green Canyon blocks 859, 860, 903, 904 and 948.
In its recent report, Anadarko said that the 80,000-BOPD Heidelberg project remains on track for first oil in 2016, as construction on the topsides is more than 70-percent complete, and two deepwater drilling rigs are actively drilling development wells in the field.

HOUSTON – Anadarko Petroleum Corp. (NYSE:APC) found oil in the Heidelberg-2 appraisal well in Green Canyon block 903 of the Gulf of Mexico. The well was drilled to TD of 31.030 ft in 5,000 ft of water and encountered 250 net feet of oil pay in high-quality Miocene sands.
