Apr 22, 2007 · Figuring out currents for Delaware River/Bay. On our way from Annapolis to Lake Champlain, we'll be leaving the C&D Canal on approximately May 8th and heading towards Cape May. I show a 1.1kt ebb flow at 0700 right at the eastern end of the C&D Canal where we'll be entering the Delaware. I'm fairly new at factoring currents into timing.
May 26, 2022 · First off as others have said the the H/L tides do not match with the slack currents. If the current has a perfect sinusoidal rhythm, it will follow the rule of 12ths. Assuming the current runs for 6-hours. Hours 1 and 6 will have 1/12 tidal flow volume. Hours 2 and 5 will have 2/12 tidal flow volume.

Check NOAA Tides and Currents and look under current predictions under products. The 2011 numbers aren't up yet but should be in the next few weeks. After East River we anchor behind Sandy Hook.
Apr 3, 2013 · Route. Via ICW & Outside (Beaufort/Morehead, NC) 140 nm, Annapolis, MD to Norfolk, VA. ICW 623 nm, Norfolk, VA to Beaufort/Morehead City, NC. 497 Beaufort/Morehead City, NC to Stuart, FL. So around 1270 nm. If it was all ICW, then at an avg of 4 knots, so that's just over 300 hrs. If I do 10hrs a day, that's 30 days.
Sep 11, 2010 · Another stop further south is Reedville. You can be off the bay in a decent anchorage in 45 min (about the same as Solomons. I've done Annapolis to St. Mary's a number of times with a Gov Cup crew. It's 70 miles direct, so Deltaville will be about 30 more. Solo without a stop for sleep will be hard.
