      • ''Anything Else,'' his tart new antiromantic comedy, which opens today nationwide, is small-scale and loose. It feels oddly long for a Woody Allen picture, but its relaxed, casual air gives the humor room to breathe, and a gratifyingly high proportion of the piled-up one-liners actually raise a laugh.

His characters are doubtful about their prospects in life. Careers aren't going well, and romance works only through self-deception.

  2. Sep 19, 2003 · Featured review. A great comedy based on paranoia and irony. This film is a romantic comedy about two young lovers and an older man who happens to be very paranoid. Anything Else is a typical Woody Allen film, where there are a lot of paranoia and irony. It is dialog heavy, which is a good thing because the dialogs are fun and witty.

  7. Anything Else” is a film that I’ve wanted to see for so long ! It stars Jason Biggs who I think is criminally underrated and should definitely be in more, Roger Ebert and Peter Travers both gave it really solid reviews and Quentin Tarantino said that it was one of his favourites from the 2000s.
