A memorial to Ataturk, founder of Turkey and defender of Gallipoli in 1915. The site is geographically very similar to the actual site of ANZAC landing in Gallipoli. A must see for every Australian and New Zealander interested in their own history. Any Turk, coming to this part of the world should visit it as well.

Kemal Ataturk commanded the Turkish forces at Gallipoli and later became the founder and first president of modern Turkey. This memorial honours him, as well as the heroism and sacrifice of both the Anzac and Turkish troops who took part in the bitterly fought campaign. Soil from Anzac Cove in Turkey was placed beneath the dedication plaque.

The granite columns set the scene, along with the Australian and Turkish Flags at the entrance, but the essence of the memorial is distilled by the words inscribed around it on plaques and engravings.
The memorial garden surrounds a semi-circular wall. The inside face of this wall bears the likeness of Ataturk, the founder and first leader of Modern Turkey, with an inscription of his tribute to the ANZACS who died while fighting at Gallipoli.
