Location of Anzac Memorial Park in Queensland. Anzac Memorial Park is a heritage-listed memorial and park at The Strand, Townsville CBD, City of Townsville, Queensland, Australia. It was first built in 1912. It is also known as The Strand Park and Townsville War Memorial. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 21 October 1992.
A rescent addition to the Albany Heritage Park is the Apex Lookout, built onto the granite summit of Mount Clarence. The view over the ANZAC Memorial and King George Sound is incredible. From here you can see the Albany Harbour in Princess Royal Harbour, Ataturk Channel which connects it to the Sound, to the south.

Unveiled in 1990, the memorial is a marble crescent, with inscriptions, soil from Anzac Cove, and a bust of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the first president of the Republic of Turkey. The paved forecourt, path, and gravel car parking areas were added in 1999. There is parking available at Tarakena Bay car park and on Kekerenga Street in Strathmore.
