I haven't purchased aoe3.. I just use to be an avid player of aok.. I was thinking of getting the game though I wanted to make sure online play was still active for aoe3 and I wanted to know if it is free to play online.
Although the pricing model for Age of Empires Online, like the game itself, is in "testing" and undecided, many publications like Joystiq have been reporting from Gamescom that the game is likely to implement the "premium" model - where much of the game is free and players buy more gameplay expansions (civilizations, areas to quest in, etc).
