Probably 2nd best elemental after freeze, sometimes best. So people are almost right. Think of it as a time bomb. After a couple seconds it blows up. It doesn’t just do splash damage, it also attaches another dark touch to anything hit by the splash damage. So with enough mobs you end up with a chain reaction of explosions.
