Getting back to my one-page solution for the chords I needed most as a beginner, I chose the six major keys that are easiest for baritone ukulele, G, A, C, D, E, and F. This also gives you the six relative minor keys of Em, F#m, Am, Bm, C#m, and Dm.
A baritone ukulele has two main characteristics: 1. Four Strings Tuned DGBE. Like a normal ukulele, a baritone has only four strings. It also uses a similarly wide string spacing that makes it easy to play. These strings are usually tuned DGBE. This is the same as the bottom four strings of a guitar.
(By the way, a baritone ukulele is tuned exactly the same as the first four string of a guitar [ D G B E ]. In this context you could just think of a guitar as a baritone uke with two extra “bass” strings.) GOOD NEWS: Jazz chords are complex and hard to learn and play on most instruments but ukulele is the happy exception.
