Finnish language is an obscurity, probably somehow smaller Ugric group of people travelled to west and mixed with Germanic people, but the minority language of Ugris somehow flipped to majority's language among us. So, all in all, we do have asian genes. But I find it interesting, not offensive.
Both Swedish (one of the two official languages of Finland) and Russian belong to the Indo-European group of languages, while Finnish is a Finno-Ugric language.
Finnish people are warm, open and sincere, even though they might tell you otherwise. If you’ve ever met a Finn, chances are they’ve mentioned the reserved nature of their countrymen. Be not afraid – we’re not taciturn brutes. Finns are talkative and hospitable, but the myth of the withdrawn Finn is still alive and well within Finland.
