Canoe, Kayak, Tubes. Sep 2015 • Family. All three are available at Argo. Canoeing or kayaking in the backwater or portage around the dam and paddle down to Gallup. Kayaks and tubes can take the "Cascades" which is fun and very cool. These are man made rapids around the dam but canoes have to portage around.

Came here in the spring so it wasn't time quite yet for canoeing, but Argo Park as a whole is a big recommend if you're in the Ann Arbor area and looking for the closest hike to downtown. Argo Park, situated on the Huron River, of course, is connected through a trail system to like 17 (that's an exaggeration, but it's still a lot) other parks.

Leaflet. Argo Canoe Livery features canoe, single kayak, double kayak, raft, stand up paddleboard and tube rentals on the Huron River in the city of Ann Arbor. Offered from the Argo Canoe Livery are stillwater paddling in two mile Argo Pond or a 3.7 mile 1.5 hour river trip down the Huron River. We have hundreds of boats and no reservations.
