It was introduced by the conqueror Hernán Cortes to some nobles in Astorga who were his friends. During my time in Astorga, I noticed that there was at least one chocolate shop on almost every street I walked.

The Bishops’ Palace in Astorga was designed by Antoni Gaudí, the greatest exponent of Catalan Art Nouveau. More Gothic Revival than Art Nouveau, it consists of a castle, a church and a mansion, with an impressive white granite exterior.

Aug 27, 2020 · Astorga Cathedral is the main religious building in Astorga, a town in Castilla y León Region, in the North of Spain. It was built between 15 and 18th Century in a curious mix between Gothic, Baroque and Renaissance-style. The result is a very nice building, which is located close to the Astorga Palace built by Gaudí.
