The Avery Brundage Scholarship is designed for students who demonstrate excellence both in academic pursuits and in amateur athletic endeavors. Financial need is not a factor. Full-time graduate students in good standing with a "special athletic ability" in an amateur sport are eligible.

Jul 2, 2014 · CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Sixteen University of Illinois students from the Chicago, Springfield and Urbana-Champaign campuses have been awarded Avery Brundage Scholarships for excellence in academics and athletics. Each winner will receive a $2,500 award for the 2014-2015 academic year.
University of Illinois students who excel in both academics and athletics are encouraged to enter the 2017-18 Avery Brundage Scholarship competition. Deadline for submitting completed applications is Feb. 6. Full-time students at the Chicago, Springfield and Urbana campuses, including incoming freshmen, graduate and transfer students, may apply.
