Champion Tree is a designation afforded to selected trees that are special or superlative because of their height, size or significance. A number of countries including the UK, New Zealand, [1] the U.S., South Africa [2] and Canada support such designation schemes based on standardised criteria.
The National Register of Champion Trees is a list of the largest tree specimens found in the United States as reported to American Forests by the public. A tree on this list is called a National Champion Tree .
