May 6, 2019 · Bahia de las Aguilas is virtually unknown outside the Dominican Republic, as there are no hotels, no resorts, no villages… and barely anyone there. Not to mention, the beach is absolutely stunning. 7 km of powdery-white sand, with calm, clear aqua-turquoise sea, some trees for shade, and that’s it. I know, ALL the clichés – but trust me ...
3 day road trip to Bahia de las Aguilas. We started at Barahona and went to the larimar mines, Playa San Rafael, and Los Patos. Many things to see and do on the way. I wish we had more time. We drove our own car and there is very little English or foreign tourist in this area of the country. Recommend you have some basic Spanish.
