The Hiram M. Chittenden Locks are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The grounds at the Locks are open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday - Sunday, including all holidays. The fish ladder viewing gallery closes at 8:45 p.m.
Free guided public tours are available from May 1 through Sept 30 during visitor center hours. Free tours start at 2:00 pm in the visitor center theater and last about an hour. You can join a tour anytime, no registrations are required.
