Legnica. Legnica is a town in southwestern Poland, in Silesia, in the central part of Lower Silesia, on the plain of Legnica, riverside: Kaczawa (left tributary of the Oder) and Czarna Woda. Between 1 June 1975 and 31 December 1998 Legnica was the capital of the Legnica Voivodeship. It is currently the seat of the county.
Jawor (German: Jauer) is a town in south-western Poland with 22,890 inhabitants (2019). It is situated in Lower Silesian Voivodeship (from 1975–1998 it was in the former Legnica Voivodeship ). It is the seat of Jawor County , and lies approximately 61 kilometres (38 mi) west of the regional capital Wrocław .

Nearby Polkowice Dolne is the site of a former State Agricultural Farm (PGR) and, since 1998, of a Volkswagen diesel engine plant, another major employer in the region. Designated as an urban-type settlement from 1945, Polkowice regained town status in 1967. In 1975–1998 it was in the former Legnica Voivodeship.
