Basilica of the Sacred Heart. Consecrated on August 15, 1888, it was elevated to the rank of Minor Basilica on January 17, 1992. Neo-gothic in style the Basilica is home to the largest collection of 19th century French stained glass in the world as well as the oldest carillon in North America.
The Basilica is a magnificent, Gothic-inspired, cross-shaped place of worship and welcome, nurturing Notre Dame's Catholic identity. Many members of the campus community gather here amid its artistic splendor for daily and weekly Masses that are celebrated both in the main body of the church and in its basement Crypt chapel.
11:30am Daily Mass is live-streamed from the Basilica here or go to campusministry.nd.edu. Those attending public liturgies, Sunday Masses or otherwise, will need to wear a mask, except children under two years old. Weekday Masses: 6:45am Monday through Friday in the Crypt; Saturday Vigil Mass: 4:00 pm in the Parish Center
