Our History Our building has been part of the history of the Bay City Public Schools since 1905. The first building, located on the same spot as the present school, had four rooms and cost $3,800, and followed a recommendation, made by George H. Shearer, member of the board of education.

About Our District. Our school district is located in Bay City, Michigan and services students and families within parts of Bay and Saginaw Counties. Our facilities recently renovated for state-of-the-art learning, include seven elementary schools, two middle schools, two high schools, and one alternative education school serving 6,366 students.

Community. City Details. History of Bay City. First Settler. Leon Trombley is regarded as the first settler within the limits of Bay County, in an area which would become Bay City. In 1831, he built a log cabin on the east bank of the Saginaw river. Bay City was first established in 1837, and was incorporated as a city in 1865.
