The trailer trumpets this, showing scenes in both black-and-white and color, so audiences would be wowed by the difference.
The 1935 movie Becky Sharp is notable as the first feature film in full color. It’s an adaptation of the classic Thackeray novel Vanity Fair, about a schemer who makes her way into high society. It’s one of those books I’ve always meant to read, but, you know, never gotten to.
