He initially specializes in Psychic-type Pokémon, but is eventually scouted by Opal to succeed her as a Fairy-type Gym Leader, and thus changes his specialty type accordingly.
Bede is a character appearing in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield as one of the rivals. He is one of the people who once received endorsement from Chairman Rose but later had his Gym Challenger status revoked. Opal recruited him to be her successor soon after.
