His mother, Bep (a nickname) Voskuijl, and grandfather, Johann Voskuijl, were two of the five people responsible for maintaining the annex. Bep and Johann worked for Otto Frank (Anne’s father) in his Amsterdam spice manufacturing plant before the war.

Johannes Hendrik Voskuijl was the father of Johannes (Johan) Hendrik Voskuijl (1892) and the grandfather of Bep Voskuijl. He was born in Grote Wittenburgerstraat. [1] On 1 December 1887 he married Elisabeth Hoenson, who died on 23 April 1920 . [2]
