Elisabeth "Bep" Voskuijl (Dutch pronunciation: [eːˈlisaːbɛd bɛp ˈfɔskœyl]; [a] 5 July 1919 – 6 May 1983) was a resident of Amsterdam who helped conceal Anne Frank and her family from Nazi persecution during the occupation of the Netherlands.
In her diary, Anne writes of Bep (and her then-fiancé Bertus): 'Bep's trying to get ahead in the world, and Bertus is pulling her back; he's a laborer, without any interests or any desire to make something of himself, and I don't think that'll make Bep happy.
