    No matter the dog food brand, the label should state that the food is ‘complete and balanced’ for the life stage the diet is designed to feed. It's important to select a nutritionally balanced dog food that's specifically designed for weight management, rather than just reducing your dog's portion sizes. Weight management foods compensate for fat-to-protein balance found in typical dog foods, increasing not only protein, but vitamin and mineral proportions.
