  6. Dec 03, 2010 · MY Bethia Hopkins is the daughter of John Hopkins and Jane, whoever they were. She married Samuel Stocking and her daughter Bethia Stocking married Thomas Stowe. The other Bethia Hopkins married William Kelsey. It's unknown who her parents were. She may be the sister of John Hopkins (I think that's right, correct Erica), but it's unproven.

    I am not aware of anyone however who has found the parents of the Bethia Hopkins who married William Kelsey.There was a John Hopkins in Hartford at the same time as Kelsey's Bethia, but Bethia married back in England, so there is no reason to necessarily connect John and Bethia.

    According to the Kelsey Kindred website, in 1940 the group restored the Kelsey family burial lot in Clinton, which was granted to William Kelsey when the town was established in 1664. Part of this restoration included installing a memorial headstone for William, as the original headstone had disappeared or weathered away by that time.
