    Born in Lynn, Massachusetts, in the Lynn Hospital, Estelle's mother, Elinor Ingeborg (née Mattsson), was a native of Sweden, and her father, Eben Parsons, was of English descent.She attended the Oak Grove School for Girls in Maine.
