Basic compulsory insurance only pays 50 percent of these costs. However, many supplementary insurance policies will cover the rest, as will some travel insurances.

Being a patreon of Rega helps and you should do that if you are in the mountains often. If you break a leg, insurance pays the rescue. If you get ill it is more complicated. If you get blocked or lost even more so. In these complicated cases, rega can then choose, but is not obliged to. pay something.
