Todman died on July 29, 1979, two days before his 63rd birthday, in New York City as a result of a heart condition. He was survived by his wife Frances Holmes Burson and two children: William Jr. and Lisa Todman Plough. He was buried at Mount Hope Cemetery in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York. [2]

Dec 19, 1992 · He met Bill Todman while both worked on "Battle of the Boroughs," a quiz program at WABC radio. They teamed up, with Mr. Goodson doing the creative work on games and Mr. Todman as the salesman.
The two men took equal credits on screen for a Goodson—Todman Production, but Todman’s role was strictly in the front office. After Todman’s death in 1979, the studio was renamed Mark Goodson Productions. Mark Goodson—Bill Todman Productions ultimately supplied more than five hundred game series to the ever-expanding medium of television.
