The BMW Group Plant Dingolfing is a network of BMW plants in Dingolfing, Dingolfing-Landau, Lower Bavaria, Germany with a total area of around 280 hectares. The plant is the largest production site of the BMW Group in Europe.
Every day, about 1,600 cars roll of the assembly lines at BMW Group Plant Dingolfing. In 2017, more than 376,000 vehicles were built here. With its team of 18,000 employees and 800 apprentices, the site in Lower Bavaria is the BMW Group’s Center of Excellence for the large model series.
On July 23, 1969, the company celebrates the topping-out ceremony for BMW Plant 2.2 in Dingolfing. For many years, it served as BMW’s central parts dispatch unit. Nowadays, it is not only a parts warehouse but also a production site of components for the BMW Group’s plug-in hybrid models.
Plant Dingolfing is the BMW Group’s largest European production site. Around 1,500 BMW 4 Series, 5 Series, 6 Series, 7 Series and 8 Series cars, as well as the new fully-electric BMW iX, come off its production lines every day. A total of around 232,000 vehicles were built at the plant in 2020.

BMW Group Plant Dingolfing is the BMW Group’s largest vehicle production site in Europe: Last year, around 245.000 BMW vehicles rolled off the assembly lines. The site manufactures a wide range of cars – currently models of the 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 Series, as well as the new all-electric BMW iX.
BMW Group Plant Dingolfing is one of the BMW Group’s over 30 global production sites. At the large vehicle plant 02.40 situated directly on highway A92, about 1,500 cars of the BMW 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 Series as well as the new all-electric BMW iX roll off the assembly lines every day – ready to be dispatched to customers around the globe.
