Bogislaw VII was the son of Duke Barnim III "the church founder" ( c. 1303 – 1368) and his wife, Agnes of Brunswick-Grubenhagen. After his father's death in 1368, he ruled Pomerania-Stettin jointly with his older brothers Casimir III and Swantibor III . Casimir III died in battle in 1372 during a war against Brandenburg.

In 1365, after the death of his father, Barnim IV, he ruled Pomerania jointly with his brother Wartislaw VI. As they were both minors, they stood under the guardianship of their uncle Bogislaw V, who died in 1374.
Bogislaw IV (c. 1255 – 19 or 24 February 1309), of the House of Griffin, was Duke of Pomerania from 1278 until his death in 1309. Bogislaw was the eldest son of Duke Barnim I by his second wife, Margaretha, sometimes said to be a daughter of King Eric X of Sweden. He was an adult at his father's death in 1278, having been co-ruler since 1276.
Biography. Bogislaw was born in Barth as a member of the House of Griffin. He was the third son of Duke Bogislaw XIII by his first wife Clara of Brunswick-Lüneburg. On the death of his father in 1606, he and his younger brother George II became joint dukes of Rügenwalde (Darłowo). George II died in 1617, and Bogislaw became sole ruler.

He was the son of Bogislaw V, brother of Casimir IV and Bogislaw VIII. He married Maria of Mecklenburg-Schwerin (daughter of Henry III, Duke of Mecklenburg) and was the father of Eric of Pomerania and Catherine of Pomerania . In 1377, he became Duke of Pomerania in Pomerania-Stolp; at times he was its coruler with his brother, Bogislaw VIII.
