Polish-born Dr Bohdan Piasecki, who is an Assistant Professor in Creative Writing at the College of Arts and Law, won the inaugural ‘Best Single Poem – Performed’ category at in the Forward prizes for poetry with his poem, ‘Almost Certainly’, that powerfully explores Polish and British communities.

Bohdan Piasecki. Bohdan Piasecki (b. Warsaw, Poland) is based in Birmingham. He is the founder of the first poetry slam series in Poland, and retains a particular interest in orality, multilingualism, and storytelling. An experienced educator and facilitator, Bohdan is Assistant Professor in Creative Writing at the University of Birmingham.
